I like ol' Shorty. I like it so much I just might have to make me one! Hope you don't mind if I borrow your idea.

By the way, I'm sure the 18th century builders would have used Acra-Glas by the gallons had it been invented at the time.
Holler at me if you dont have a barrel . 24 ga. , 26" long barrels are $26 a piece . They have used CNC machines if they had had them ....I build pretty primitive by today's standards but I still use some modern when I'm forced too or just be dumb not too .... Lighting and a fan are nice ! :)

Man, that is nice. I've been following a lot of your other recent builds but this one hits the spot. I sent you PM on the barrel. Now to go see if I got a standing dead black cherry tree left on the ranchette here that's big enough for it.

Got down pretty good but I was in a hurry ....I'll go back over her tomorrow and make sure all is good and then 100 gritvthe whole thing then....stain her ..... Gettin there ...gotta go check garden and its Saturday ! Gotta take a bath ! Traditional Appalachian .... Once every Saturday evening whether I need it or not ! :)

That’s gonna turn out very nice just you wait and see.

Not sure.. I need to slow down on it a bit . Its for me so I was rushing it . I'll go back over it tomorrow . I hope the cracks from the burl dont ruin its look but give it character .... We'll see.. . just wanna get the wood finish on it and the wood will be protected . I'll hang it back on the wall , get to the barrel browning later ... Gettin there

Rob I would be interested in one of those barrels if you have any left....I stepped away from building my short gun...the honey do list has gotten into over drive....lol

Well ....looks like $hit but the stain is on and first coat of shellac ....drying now ...two more coats to go ...

Welp ...looks like colossal $hit ....maybe I'll be able to keep this one ! LOL ...See if I can do some magic here ....it needs it .....badly....meh
