I will shoot a Cabelas .58 Hawkin and Jake will use a .54 Cabelas Hawkin. I use PRB, he likes the big conical. About tied so far on distance traveled with our different beasts we have harvested.
6b archery bull elk here !

Tin can area if any water. Quiet area off Lake Mary Rd good too but thats a pack out for sure.

Unit 8 archery cow was 2nd choice for us. We both meat hunters mainly, I have cut the horns off a bunch of bulls and sold for beer money and he is a Vet (as in animule doc) so he is not much of a trophy hunter either.

Good luck. 🥩

I always put in for the area just south of Winslow, East Sunset Mountain. Beautiful area. Haven't been drawn since 2017. Anywhere in No. Az. is dynamite. Don't forget the Whistlers.

I have the exact same tag!

I've hunted ML years ago but never got anything, this year I'm getting back into ML (didn't get a Javelina last month either) so it will be my first ML elk hunt. Need to zero the .54 percussion.

I might do some scouting in the summer, I have a place I like to go, last time we got drawn both my nephews got their first elk (it was not muzzleloader season) not sure how much different things will be in mid october. and none of my usual hunting partners put in with me.
