I picked up a copy myself. I agree that it is not about being period correct and I would also add that is not without information that is contradictory to what others have written. It is however, loaded with a wide range of topics that could come in handy.
I found it to have a lot of words, but not as much specific information as it should have (imho), especially for the price and the fact the authors are chosen by the editors, not via submissions. So more "fluff pieces" than informative pieces.
