The sun was partially out here today, so I finally got some nice pictures. Rob nailed this one … he even put the lock on the ‘right’ (left) side! A 48” barrel … and she weighs but 6-pounds! Handles, cheeks and fits me like a dream … woo hoo!

Man, he does good work, sure do love my trade gun.
She is sweet.

Congratulations on your new toy. I am not a fan of trade guns (buttplate and trigger guard) but if I DID, I would love that one.
If you need someone to break it in for you, you know where to find me.

Man, I love everything about that musket! Two criticisms you often hear about trade guns being made today are that the barrels are too short and too heavy. Not that one! Rob built it right!

No touch-hole liner, either. Just like the originals. I have four flintlock smoothbores and none of them have touch-hole liners. They just aren’t needed on guns of that type.

Rob did an outstanding job on the finish work and patina. You could easily convince someone that you found that gun in the wall of one of those fine old New England homes.

I understand this gun is a shooter, too.

Good doin’s, all around!
