If it goes through, is under the breech plug thread and did not breakthrough into them it is probably sound.
I would not trust it if it passed under the bore with less barrel steel left between hole and bore than what a dove tail uses up , roughly .090 deep for the male in a rear sight from the factory.
If one thinks about it a drum drilled and tapped into the barrel wall is probably weaker than the stock bolt under passage. I definately would take it apart and do some careful measuring and inspecting before firing it. The other caution is if the barrel is made of 12L14 or 1134. I would never trust the former !
