Third and final Frankenstuffer barrel completed and installed.

Of the three, I think this will be the most fun. Never owned or shot a small smooth bore BP rifle. 20 grains? 30 grains? 150 grains of magnumitis?

22 inches.

Went to the range this afternoon and practiced shooting offhand and out of the pouch. Getting ready for a woods walk next Sunday. I believe my offhand shooting is improving but I’m no threat to win anything. I’m just looking forward to participating as this will be my first.
Flint or percussion??

Finished making a set of sheet copper thimbles , and installed them on a northern Appalachian long rifle. It's a .555 cal smooth rifle , and getting excited to see what it will do. Also , made a trigger plate . Neighbor came to see me , and is going to make a trigger guard , nose cap , side plate , and toe plate of copper for the smooth rifle. This should be , down right strange.

Watch buff hunt on mountain men. Two shots ml .500 patched ball

I added some brass to my wall hanging flintlock, it’s an old Indian flintlock action but after some work it’s ok sparks well .520 bore 38” barrel trying to get the flavour of 1750. It must remain inert in UK until it has an S1 or S2 police certificate and I won’t get one as I am 80 on 22 March, might kill intruders ha ha. France is OK I wish you well 😊😊😊😊

Took the YBG out today in the cold and damp with Pyrodex P. Troubles ensued. Finally switched to Old Eynsford 3f and obliterated my seemingly charmed target. You get to hear me utter a minor obscenity or two if you listen close.

Cleaned the 45 SMR that I shot yesterday. Used 60 grain of 3f Goex, 445 round ball with 18 thousands pillow ticking strip. Groups were OK. I may need to open up the rear sight to let in more light.
