Like I said earlier, this should end up as a fantastic hunting arm, both in performance and looks. I did a "tin can" test with both #8 lead and #6 lead at 20 yards and 40 yards. With your method of thin cards or capandballs method of cornmeal, I have lethal patterns to 40 yards and beyond. The only things I did not test was bismuth for waterfowl and a turkey load. I'm sure I can come up with a workable load for both. As it stands now, I have lethal loads for rabbit, squirrel, pheasant, dove, quail, partridge, and snipe right now. With previous testing in single barrel trade guns or fowlers, bismuth the same size or 1 size larger than lead has performed the same as lead in patterns or lethality as lead. So I doubt much testing will be needed with waterfowl loads. As for turkey, well that remains to be seen. I did kill my turkey this spring with a Pedersoli Trade Gun (19 gauge) this year at 23 yards. If I can find a load for turkey with this much maligned gun, I certainly can find a turkey load for a sxs 10 guage!Pedersoli sent me a replacement frizzen spring free once and after I also purchased one from elsewhere

Thank you for your returned participation to this forum. I was disheartened to say the least at the patterns I was getting using 'conventional' loads. Even the 'famed' Starr method produced quite frankly crappy patterns. Then I remembered your method and capandball's method. Then I had fantastic patterns. I'm glad I remembered and followed your advice!! Thanks!
