I probably paid too much for them but thought they were cool. Any info would be great. They appear to function properly and both have good bores.

That Whitney is cool. I don't know if you've field stripped it yet - but look for identifying marks/numbers on the bottom flat of the barrel under the rammer. The serial number should be under each of the wooden grip panels as well.
 
Wow! I doubt if you paid too much - those revolvers are really nice and worth a bunch. If you tell us the serial number of the Remington we can probably tell what month and year it was made.
