Not done yet but had to set the barrel and lock in to get a look. First long tang I've done
and first time I've blackened the metal. It looks like really dark grey. Thought about rubbing it back some but I like it.In the one pic there's two barrels and forearms. It's the one with the little guitar thingy behind it.

More pics. I would like for it to be a little darker but I'm pretty happy with it. Still need to put the upper tang screw in.

Nice job and beautiful stock. My first kit was a Pectatonica Lehigh. I really enjoyed it cause I got to learn all the inletting process. It was a great kit for sure and Doug was very helpful when I ordered, great company.

Comfortably Numb I put a coat of nut brown which was pretty light and redish, then a coat of walnut wich darkened it a good amount. Then when I put the finish I n I used Permalyn sealer for all the coats ,, about5 or 6. Then rubbed it back to a satin shine.. I'm not a fan of gloss. If anyone is curious barrel and all the steel was coated with two coats of Birchwood caseys perma blue.
