This is a French Dragoon Model 1733 that I made from MBS parts. It's got a 15.5" barrel, and holds beautifully. I am seriously considering making a second.

If you check out CapandBall on YouTube he has quite a few videos of European Military rifles and their accoutrement sets that utilize the lanyarded rod. Should give you an general idea, but I’m sure someone has a pic...

If you like pistols and cases, here is how a historically correct British case is made:

Dave,
That's a beautiful case, you have good hands, and the pistols, WOW!!! Did you build them as well?
It's hard to tell from the pictures on my tablet, that looks like mahogany. Am I correct?

The .45 I made from a kit when I was in high school. The .50 I made from a kit in the late 1980's. I shoot them both all the time. Bill

Just picked this up at the local black powder shop. 44 caliber. Unknown maker, barrel and lock. Wood/metal fit is better than most. Made a new ramrod, cleaned up the lock, still have to make new sights and fit them. Looks to be unfired, but I'll be correcting that as soon as I get the sights on it.

Stupid phone flipped the pictures. Here they are right side up. Most of us here are too old to stand on our heads to look at those pics, me especially!
