I thank you for accepting me. I have spent the last forty years to collecting German pistols (Luger and Mauser). Now I felt like shooting muzzle-loaders. I got a new Kentucky Rifle by Pietta (Armi Sport Italy) cal 45, percussion, I think one of the last ones he produced, because it is no longer present in the Pietta catalogue, with marks of 2015 : is it a good rifle to start? and here I've already learned a lot here. Welcome from Maine. Good rifle. .440 round ball, .15 patch, 45-50 grains (per volume). Clean with glass cleaner. Make sure the ramrod tip ( the jag end) is pinned. You are going to have fun, by the way, snap a cap before loading, put the nuzzle against a blade of grass. This clears the fire channel!
