anyone know what this gun looks like? talked to a lady who has one for sale but she isnt good with descriptions. she said it has a shim in the stock which makes me think its a kentucky rifle, which i dont want due to the 2 piece stock any info is appreciated
thanks jason

I bought a .50 cal. CVA Hawken barrel. It came with a brass "shim". This is a thin sheet of brass that wraps around the lower portion of the rifle. It helps fit a .50 barrel (15/16") in a .54 stock (1"). This shim just slips off so you can put the .50 barrel in a .50 stock. This may be what she is referring to.

Funny it looks just like my CVA SP ED Flintlock except for the grig on it, they made maybe 500 to 1000 from parts for orders to a company that wanted something different, mine was for sales in PA. FRED :hatsoff:

I just bought one, the first one I have seen. Made before BPI took over. Looks like a Bobcat, but has a wood stock.50 cal. Weights about 6&half lbs. Barrel is 26 inches. Mine has nice single trigger. Mine is in mint shape. I paid 100.00 for it. It has a brass ramrod, looks like they put the wood ends on a hollow tube. Dilly
