    Making charcloth...

    My best tin is a bag balm can with a wire around the middle. Hole in lid& bottom. Put in fire, smoke will come out holes, then the smoke will catch fire, when fire dies out, put plugs in holes. When cool check the cloth, if black and tears, done. If brown cook some more. :thumbsup: Dilly

    Cleaning/clearing the flash channel?

    How about a pipe cleaner?. I have used them to clean through the channel after I took out the nipple. Can dip in alcohol to help clean. Drys fast. Hope this helps. Dilly

    .36 or .40???

    Have had them both, like them both. For what you are hunting I would go with the .36. My choice for squirrel&rabbits is .32. Dilly

    T/C Hawken rear sight problem

    I use a vise to pinch the sides in. Take the elevation screw out,don't lose the spring, raise the V part out of sides and pinch a little, when the V part is snug stop. Done mine this way. Dilly

    CVA Mtn. Stalker .50

    To look down the barrel, I use a spent .38 nickel case, drop in empty barrel and shine a light on it. You can put tin foil on it if you want. Dilly

    CVA Squirrel rifle

    You got a fine little rifle. I paid 115.00 for mine(cheap).Not made any more. I shoot .20grs of 3ff and .311 ball in mine. Mine is a cap lock. They did come in flint too. Killed 19 groundhogs straight with mine. You will like it Iam sure.Mine was made in 83. The catalog shows mine for 170.00. Dilly

    Who makes it?

    He probably has four to a room. Mine are full in the one room. Heres a tip- I keep my old socks and after I wash them one more time and put them over the muzzles. Then when you pick them up to move to new corner you don't get any fingerprints the barrels :thumbsup: Dilly

    No don't remove the drum. You can take the nipple out of the drum, no problem. I do on my cleaning. For the long term cleaning I would plug the nipple with toothpick, put in a cleaning solution, put finger in barrel and tilt up and down, turn rifle up side down, nipple to ground, pull out...
