Love the shooting competition scene from Davy Crockett. Davy puts the 2nd round ball in the same hole and right on top of the first - and they're both still perfectly round. šŸ¤£

I am amazed at some of the balls embedded in our wooden target frames. Although not perfectly round, they are in good shape.

I guess that is why "they" tell me you can't kill a deer with a round ball. Guess they were made tougher 200 years ago. Seriously, love that movie. Fess was who got me interested in buckskins and black powder. Watched those movies many times as a little kid in the seventies. Then, fast-forward to today. Had a pretty major surgery in July and was laid up for a few months. Must have watched that movie and The River Pirates ten times each while out of commission. I catch myself at work singing that song all the time. Might be stitching a pouch, or grinding a bevel, and that song always crosses my mind. Good thing I work alone ..

I'll tell you man, I can't figure that out either. Everytime i put the balls in the same hole they end up getting smashed. I had to quit doing that, was messing up all my lead. I'm just careful now and make sure each ball goes in its own hole.

Me, I have NO difficulties whatsoever in making sure that each ball gets it own hole. It kinda comes naturally.

Davey, Davey Crockett.....King of the wild frontier. - old guys, get that jingle out of your head. "When he got home, his politikin' done, the westward march had just begun."
Fess Parker ....black and white TV. Some things you never forget. Good times.

Well Thanks for that ! <G>. The song kind of goes with the rhythm of my tinnitus crickets

I've always enjoyed the Davy Crockett movie and tv show, as well as Fess Parker in Daniel Boone. As a kid, I liked the original intro for the Daniel Boone Show, shooting at a bear and natives. I've still got an original Davy Crockett puzzle board and a few kids books somewhere packed away. Here's the original Daniel Boone intro.
