Hi friends. I work at a Museum dealing in 18th century history. My colleague is desperate for me to get into kit for some of our costumed interpretation and/or explore the re-enacting community (and I'm curious as well). During my time at the Museum, I've developed some knowledge around the history and operation of flintlocks/firelocks from this time period and am interested in learning more about them as I pursue these goals. Thank you for having me!

Welcome to the forum. Flintlocks/firelocks are very interesting indeed. You are very fortunate to be working in a museum.

Arkansas says 'Well, Howdy-do'! -This is the best place to be for taking 150-250 years off. Here you will not only make many good friends but you can share knowledge and experience with people who will listen and not make fun of your anachronistic obsessions. We too, share in the love of history and historic armament and all that goes with it. You will love dressing the part and reenacting, it makes dogs bark, children laugh and women scream! Geo.
