Here I had my hopes all built up so I went and looked at Emmert's lube. :(
Crisco, beeswax and Canola oil.

Not a word about using toilet rings be they old or new. :(

I was hoping it was for used toilet rings. I suppose one could substitute the used toilet rings for the beeswax.
The formula would be 1 turd toilet ring, one turd Crisco and one turd Canola oil.

Zonie, When I made my batch of Emmerts, I had 3 nearly new toilet rings on hand. Rather than toss them, I "recycled" them into BP lube and poured it into my RCBS LAM I lube sizer. It worked with nary a hitch or the need to preheat the sizer itself. Would I use it again? Not really as I have beeswax on hand, which I use for Felix Lube for cast centerfire rifle & pistol bullets. Btw, Felix Lube can also be used for BP bullets, but Emmerts is better.

Thanks all for the replies -- I think I will trash the toilet bowl wax ring idea. I got a little over 10 pounds of clean bees wax and I don't want to waste any of it on something that "might work". I don't like the "sticky" texture of the toilet ring and fear that it could crust up in the bore after shooting the Minie. So it's off to the garbage but I did read that it makes a fine fly tying dubbing   .

Wise move. :applause: Enjoy.

I used the toilet bowl wax ring to flux the lead in my pot while casting balls. Seemed do the job for me.

Great idea Hefner --- now back to the garbage and find the toilet bowl wax :rotf: .
