Picked this up very inexpensive at my local GS. Careful disassembly today to see any covered up marks. I did not scuff/sand the breech, that was before I took possession. The bright area "cleaned" on the breech shows a faint '1854' and some other numbers or letters. All other stamps and marks are on the breech plug, bottom of barrel, and inside the lockplate. And then there is the matter of the Tanner and Co trigger guard. Barrel length is 30", but the bayonet lug is there. How is that? So any thoughts? Here are some pictures of the various stamps and numbers.
