Jim Webb mentions this knife in his book on Southern Mountain Pouches. I'd say Jim was a master of the understatement! I include the illustration of the knife. Jim believed it was turned on a lathe, I'm inclined to believe it was but with a bit of whittling added too. I love odd things so I turned a tribute to this little knife. The blade is from a very old filet knife, the wood is from a Paw Paw, so it is certainly a type of wood found in the forests of the Southern US.
