And of course those chrome bores, the spray on lacquer, god knows what kind of modern steel, and hot salt bluing.
 
Horses for courses.
Shoot the choke you have & if not good for you then get the Mr's to approve a new gun purchase.
All chokes on various guns shoot a bit different & then there are loads that shoot open or tight.
I just think that it is wise to shoot a few loads through them & do a bit of load development before boring the choke; If at all necessary.
But then having & shooting all the different chokes, I still prefer Full for four legs & imp, mod or what may be called 3/4 for feathers.
Do whatever pleases you, but why, in effect, ruin a good chrome bore at the muzzle ?

Cylinder is certainly the tradition choke, and the rest of my guns are, indeed, cylinder. Just never bothered to struggle with changing that one barrel.
