I mentioned that it di seem like much fitting had been needed to install the buttplate. Looks like a few strokes of a rasp were taken at the top to make clearance for the corner.

The Woodsrunner stock came pretty smooth, not much sanding or scraping is needed. I tried to show the difference in a couple of side by side pictures. See if you can spot the scraped vs. unscraped sections.

I took my Kibler,s extra fancy curly maple down to 800 grit before dying and again afterwards to polish the grain. Followed by 5 coats of Truoil. It’s jewelry to me :)
Yup, and it's your weapon to do with as you wish, I want mine to be as high gloss as I can make it. My build, my choice. May never take things this far again, but won't know until you do it. If it gets scratched, I'll fix it because I'll know how to bring it back!
