I was a damn yankee but retired and moved away so now I'm a rebel. I used to turkey shoot with the 55th Illinois occasionally with my first black powder, Euroarms 3 banded. I had a bunch of old Pyrodex left over because the stuff would quickly turn the inside of the barrel red when cleaning. So I bought an old T/C Hawken 50 with a fuzzy barrel recently so I could burn it up. My surprise was that the darn thing shoots very nice with round balls. I just have to swab the bore every shot. Great fun.
