I realize that this would take an advanced skillset, but has anyone ever custom made a stock with a pistol grip and modern buttpad? Im thinking that this would be a really nice hunting rifle, also that women and kids could shoot it very easily. Ive been thinking on the possiblilities, and believe that this would be something i would like to try one day in the future. Im thinking something similar to a ruger m77 stock, with the checkared grip. Has anyone ever done this or heard of it done?

reinhart fajen used to sell pistol grip stocks for t/c hawkens/renegades but haven't heard of anyone else doing it. for what it's worth, bubba.

I saw that thread, that was what got me thinking about it, but what about anyone doing it more recently?

I am making a flintlock double shotgun with a pistol grip. The buttplate is not modern. I have seen pistol grip guns from france in the late 1700's Boutet- etc. and close to modern fine checkering.

I have seen thumbhole stocks on side lock muzzlers, with monte Carlo butt stocks and rubber shotgun butt pads. A fellow named Ron Griffie of Bowie Md had made one back around 1980. Fancy Peep sights and Palm rest for offhand shooting. (He painted it metal flake green)

Certainly not anything new but this English sporting rifle I made up a few years ago sort of fits the profile.
