Well the grandson and Pap went out yesterday.
Nanna got up and had breakfest for us.
Said he wasn't going out hunting all day with only the bisquets I would have had!
Funny she just rolls over and says I am crazy when I get up to go!
Well we went farther up the river from were we
were before. Sat at a funnel spot for the morning, nothing but a coyote on the other side of the river. Later we came on a buck six maybe an eight point.
Put a stalk on him ,he crossed the creek we were on and was feedin through the hemlocks.
Pulled the hammer back and heard a dull click and had no tension on the hammer, the spring broke!! Had to watch him feed off!!
Well still a good day, he is getting better still hunting.
We got close enough to a group of turkeys
to break them up. sat for like a half hour
and I let him call.
Dang if he didn't get a bird to come back,
let it go as to not spook it any more.
Nanna called a little later and said she had beef stew and dumplings on if we were on the way home.
Home ate and the three of us were off to Dixion's muzzle loader shop for a spring .
Picked up my wads for my Bess also.
Of course the lady had to pick up a few things at the White Hall Mall while we were down that way.
Begining to think there is something to this taking the youngn hutin ,I am getting fed pretty good!! :wink:
