I picked up a few packs of Fox Fire at the last gun show. It's a blackpowder derivative ? I believe. It's used in place of priming powder,1/2 gr is all you need to prime. It's faster than ffffg.
Does anyone know if it's still available ?

Please tell me more about this stuff. The fastest priming powder I have timed is Swiss Null B. It is reputed to be floor sweepings from the production of other powder. It was measurably faster than Swiss ffffg, which was the fastest I timed before Null B.

I'm told it was made in the US, been around since the civil war.Looks like yellow flour.
A pkg has 110grs and says to add 1/2 gr to the main charge also.I tried that, couldn't see any difference.
But it sure works for priming.A flash in the pan creates the same amount of smoke as 2grs of ffffg ?

Cheers Teach.
