Today I was able to shoot my new to me Tc Cherokee in 45. I started at 25Yds, the group was touchin, all of em. I set up at 50yds and got after it. The group opened up a bit, little over 2”,but I’ll keep practicing. The trigger is really nice on this rifle, this will be a fun journey to accuracy. I like the light nimble feel compared to my hawken. the load was 50gn by volume, fffg old Eynsfor, 440 ball, .15 dry patch, spit lube and a cci #11.

Used to shoot steel competition , PRB r/b w/.45. Try this for fun.....40 gr. FFFG for a light load , and 60 gr. FFFG out to 200 yds. At 200 they had a standing cub bear which had to be knocked over to score. A .50 cal w/a 170 gr. P RB w/ 80 gr. FFFG is what it took to wack the bear down @ 200 , every time. A .45 is very accurate , too, and Very fun cal. to shoot. .......... oldwood
