Hello all, I bought this Armi San Marcos/CVA .50 percussion over and under rifle last week. I've never seen or heard of one till now. I cant find much information on it except it was probably private branded by Armi San Marcos in Italy for different companies.

It has short 24" octagon to round barrels. Does anyone know anything about this double rifle? Any knowledge shared would be appreciated. RamblinMan

Iver Johnson imported those out first back in the day when most companies were scrambling to come out with a BP gun.I think Iver Johnson then shortly closed their doors and CVA picked it up.It is mentioned in Fadalas Black powder loading manual.I believe if memory serves me correct there is an adjustment screw on the piece that holds both barrels together that allows you to adust the barrels allowing both barrels to print together. The gun didn t last long on the market as when it first came out it was pricey and of course kind of butt ugly.

Someone else was telling me that the Iver Johnson models had a screw to align the barrels. This version does not. These barrels are soldered together at the muzzle. The barrels, locks, trigger, and stock all carry the same four digit serial number. She weighs almost 9 lbs. Thanks for your input. RamblinMan

Can't help you with info but you might try contacting CVA and see if anyone there has info on it. Whether or not you learn more about it, its safe to say you have a rifle that few others have. Shoot it and enjoy it and fill the rest of in on how it shoots.
