I bought a CVA rod that feels like might be aluminum and a CVA handle. JB Weld them together and love that rod especially the handle. Wound up with about $12 bucks. Already have a TOW range rod but it is too heavy.
 
I got one of the brass ones from October County, one with the elk handle and like it a lot.
Kept the PVC tube it came in and fancy wrapped it with cotton string to carry it in, plan to dye that with walnut dye (hide the 'modern look).
