Ok , now ....he barrel is in at the breech and centered in the primary groove , which is riding the center line ....now.... Look straight down from top of barrel and try to make good accurate lines along side of barrel , both sides , full length.. Your first set of side lines . You want to do this many times over the course of bedding the barrel. The more the barrel goes down the more accurate the lines . First set are least accurate ....so stay inside these lines when bedding the barrel . Through out the process keep checking your center lines ....

Your going to be taki g the barrel in and out a LOT ! I use this to put in the muzzle , pop it up a bit , put my fingers a little u der half way down the Barrel , then push down at muzzle to pop breech up .....When barrel gets tight you'll have to take the whole stock out of vice and bump it on the butt to.pop out barrel . Dont want to screw up wood at breech end ....

And the breach ... I like to do this....I measure breach of barrel , then chisel down to that depth and mark with marker . That is bed depth final .... Then mark where the octagon section stops . I like to develope that era first . I get the straight sides started before I start the bedding ... This is all the process of bedding the barrel but the real bedding is when all this preliminary stuff is done and your tapping the barrel in , popping it out , chiseling out everything black from the inlet compound , revoating the barrel and tapping the barrel back in again .... Over and over for about 5-7 hours ....Thats the true bedding process .... This stuff is just getting it all ready for that ....

So .... I start my edges at the Oct. section , straight down , just inside lines ... Get that started and the Oct. sect actually starts settling in pretty quick ....then cover barrel with inlet black and tap her down ...first of the bedding process ... I just got her started , took off some of the thick sections showing color along the barrel channel length ... Some obvious spots but just getting it ready for tomorrow or when ever I can spend in interrupted time bedding the tube ... The final 1/8" at the breech is always the slowest most drawn out work . I just got it started and it at .100 at the breech ! Cool ... So once the muzzle is touching g the bottom and the breech of barrel is level with the wood at the barrel , the barrel is bedded in the stock . Got er all ready now .... enough for today

....first of the inlet black marks after barrel was put in and taken out of channel . Just remove the black marks ... As the barrel goes down keep re doing the pencil lines on the sides of the barrel full length ...stay inside those lines ...

Here's what's left to sink at the Breech , .100 ....and when the muzzle hits the bottom of the rough channel .... She'll be bedded . The whole process of bedding the barrel is a long drawn out pain in the arse . If someone want to build a gun or rifle and accomplished only to cut out the pattern and bed the barrel , they really have accomplished something . Its tough ...but its possible ...and after the barrel the rest feels like cake ! LOL

Just looked at the pics on FB. Beautiful guns. What does one of yours go for out the door?
BTW, I could not get on your website.

I've wanted one for over a decade but never got the $$$$ together long enough to "pull the trigger" on it.
Unfortunately they are stupid expensive . I always encourage folks to build their own or at least decide on a design and buy a part at a time .... stretch out the cost .
