Been there, done that!
And people don't see what the big deal is about an advanced degree.
This list is actually a bit on the light side for a PHD level course.
What they do is assign several books to each student (not all books to all students), The students then read the material and write book reports which they pass out to everyone in the class(usually 8-10 people).
What you average is 5,000-7,000 pages of reading per class and you will take 3-4 of these classes per semester.
And when you get through with this fun and games you get to take comprehensive exams on everything you ever studied, then write and defend a disetation and often do a graduate level internship for good measure.
