Looked for bench rest flintlock rifles that may have been in use centuries ago.

Thank you for posting this. It's a fascinating, beautiful rifle. It's also reassuring to see that, again, there's little new under the sun.

They made match lock bench guns with big flat foots and peep sights in earl sixteenth century and were holding two hundred yard matches with these.

Too many decades ago I was pretty heavily into cast bullet wildcatting and that extended over into my previous and ongoing muzzleloading interests. What folks were doing with it centuries ago just fascinates the oodles out of me.
