Friends, our 2nd Amendment rights are always under attack and the NRA has been a constant for decades in helping fight that fight.
We have partnered with the NRA to offer you a discount on membership and Muzzleloading Forum gets a small percentage too of each membership, so you are supporting both the NRA and us.
I have a 66 twist 36 cal douglas barrel and what im guessing is a 70 or 72 twist 54 cal sharon barrel does anyone know what breech plug I need to get for them?
I bought a 45 caliber Douglas barrel in 1980 that had a 5/8 thread for the Breech plug. So I would suggest that a 36 might have the same, but the only way to tell is to measure the barrel thread. Remember what you will measure is the root diameter not the od of the breech plug thread. Most hardware stores have a selection of ordinary bolts you could try.
