I'm planning some shooting experiments for the new year, and want to use a production rifle for part of it. (Part of this is that my rifles are "old"--if folks think they need a custom rifle, or a Douglas or Large or Sharon barrel to play, they tend not to. I want a rifle that will encourage others with similar rifles to try things for themselves--and part of my experiment will be to compare the old barrels with the new.) So it looks like I'm going to break down and order one of Kibler's Colonial kits. That leads me to a few questions about the kit, and the finished rifle.

1. Brass castings: are these soft brass or the bronze alloy many of the suppliers have?

2. Distance from breech to rear sight (I'm looking at issues of eye relief here)?

3. What is the approximate balance point of the Colonial in .54 and in .50 (how many inches forward of the trigger)?

Thanks!
