It's actually a .35. So far 00 buck shot seems to work pretty well. I put 5 into 1 3/4" at 50 yards the other day. That was with Hornady buck shot which is anything but round. That may not make any difference though. It averages .330 and with a .018 patch it loaded easily. I also coned the muzzle with a Joe Wood tool. It's the third rifle I've coned and I wouldn't have them any other way. I have a Lee buck shot mold on order and I'll give that a try.

I have a 54 caliber Rice barrel that shoots a .530 ball very accurately and the same with my old Douglas .45. It likes a .440 ball. To be continued...
