Almost done!
They never made the CVA Mountain Pistol in .54cal, so I took a spare Hawken barrel, cut a new dovetail for the wedge key and the rear sight. I ended up going with a more user friendly 7" barrel. So far, shes shootin pretty! I crowned the section I cut off, and later on, I'll breech the other longer section and make a nice bear pistol set up!

Time to go find my taller front sight and get that installed. Shame too! It shot perfectly center with 40gr 3f.

3 shots fired off hand from 10 yards, 30gr Gearhart Owen 3fg, .015" patches and .530" round balls.

Got the taller front sight installed today. Worked out perfectly.

I believe it started out as a CVA kit. Permussion at first. Changed lock to an L & R Replacement with their gooseneck hammer. Got rid of the pot metal nose cap, replaced with a steel one from Track, most likely a "Plains-style". Replaced steel entry thimble and upper thimble to 3/8". I replaced the rib but not sure if I made it or had a piece left around from old days. New 38" rod. Made the captured wedge. Stained with AF and finished with TrI-Oil, hand rubbed and later Paste floor wax. I like dark gun stocks.
Oh, I sold it too. Tried here on this forum, but nobody wanted it. Went to GB and ended up in Ohio at my asking price. :)
