All mountain rifles were 32"

An ultra rare cva hawken had a 28" barrel.

Considering you only have 1 ramrod thimble, I'd say it's a cut down barrel.

No sidelock by cva was offered with a stainless steel barrel. Your barrel is in the white. Not finished
That makes me question my rifles. One of my BP rifles is a CVA marked Hawken with a 28” barrel. That’s kind of cool to have one

I have a CVA 32" 54cal flintlock barrel from a Mountain Rifle. It's not marked USA or SPAIN. and it's in the white too.
Most likely a kit gun or a barrel bought seperately. They were in the white. Likely my gun was a kit gun and the original owner customized it at the time of building and left things in the white. But it was well looked after over the years.
