This is the buck I was fortunate enough to take last fall. It was a wonderful hunt, as good as I have ever had. I was alone and 1 1/2 miles from where I could get the truck to. There were 22 other deer in this herd I was fortunate to slip around. He was asleep, with his chin on the ground when I shot him. Thank you Lord for this wonderful experience. Link

My Goodness! :shocked2:

Congratulations on a fantastic trophy! 22 other sentries and you caught him fast asleep, huh? Sounds like you did that stalk right. :hatsoff:

Idaho that is a nice buck that was an expensive nap on his part though

Congratulations on a very fine buck and stalk. You really beat the odds that day. I hunt MD in very similar terrain and know from experience that wide open country and lots of eyes , is a challenge with a short range weapon. Good On Ya! ,,DT

That is an awesome buck. Congratulations. May I ask what caliber and load you were using and distance of the shot. Thank you.

When it is my time, I think that's how I want to go. . . I'm sound asleep and some jerk just shoots me.

(Beautiful deer, congrats. I got my first ML deer in Nov of 2015 too, but it was a dwarf compared to yours, but as someone said, all deer taken with a traditional ML are trophies.)

Well we have already had many conversations about this buck. It was an AWESOME buck. Your a hell of a hunter and you deserved it. I said it before and I will say it again. Congratulations.

Thanks everyone, I am honored to have been there. It is a .58 caliber ball with 120 gr KIK 2F. 95 yards.

What an outstanding trophy, congratulations! Were you able to get the meat out to your truck? Any game animal, large or small, tastes better flavored with black powder. Keep yer powder dry.......robin

Here it is, cooling out. Bagged it the next morning and packed it out. Canned 1/4 of it and made equal portions of breakfast sausage, jalapeno & cheddar salami and bratwurst from the rest
