    CO2 unloader

Just a quick bit of info for guys using the CO2 unloaders as I do. I blew the load out of my trade gun yesterday after the end of the hunt. The ball and patch came out fine. When I went to clean it I noticed that the ramrod did not go in as far as it should have in an "empty barrel". So I put a...

    Type D at the range

Took my Mold & Gun Shop Type D to the range yesterday. Only shot it six times as we had some handguns to shoot and sight in also. But I was very happy with the results. The round balls pics were 3 shots at fifty yards. My Type D just has a front trade gun sight, no rear. I had both a steel and...

    Canvas bag I finished

Here's an 11' by 14' canvas bag I just finished. The waxed thread did not take the dye well but that's ok with me. Mixed brown, black and a bit a red. Came out a maroon color but I like it. TinStar Soli Deo Gloria!

    First try at sheaths

Here's a few sheaths and a cover for a hawk I bought at Dixon's a few weeks back. Never did this before and it was very enjoyable. The knives are the re-worked butcher knives I posted a while back. Also did the shot bag. TinStar Soli Deo Gloria!

    leather source?

I am wondering where some of you gents get leather for making sheaths and bags. I am not interested in a bag at this time but mostly making a sheath for the three knives I made that I posted pics of. I don't need a whole side or a big chunk. I see that Springfield Leather will sell by the square...

Some pics of the kitchen/butcher knives that I reworked. First time I ever did anything like this and had a lot of fun doing so. Not the best but they will suffice. The little skinner is like the patch knife from TOW. Maybe not HC but I like it anyway. First pic is before. 2nd when finished...

I have an old cast iron pot a friend gave me that is 5 in wide and 5 in deep with a handle on it. Would this be good enough for melting lead for casting? Was thinking about doing it. Would wheel weights from my mechanic be ok for plinking/shooting from my smoothie? I also have to get a ladle...

    reworking old kitchen knives

Has anyone here used old kitchen knives to rework and make a knife? Did you have to anneal it first or just grind the new shape? I have three old butcher knives and was thinking about using them. One is a Kabar with about a ten inch blade and the other has a 6" slightly up-swept blade. There is...
