Favorite black powder vendor????

Need some help please....

A few friends and I need to make a powder order. We would like to order a mixed lot of 2&3f.

We've always bought ours at Friendship as we live in Indiana ,so, this will be new to us.

Which vendor(s) do you recommend?

What is the going rate per pound if 25 pounds or more are ordered? What about HazMat fees?

Who makes delivery (USPS, FedEx, other)?

Thanks for any insight. Looking for info to pass along to my friends, as well as for my own information.

If you know of any pertinent details one should know for ordering and taking delivery, please share.

Powder Inc., Is a good company to do business with. They have always been friendly when I have ordered from them. I have ordered the last 4 years from them. Their website is the pits, call them to place an order. They ship FedEx and someone has to sign for the package.

Cheapest I could find was Buffalo Arms. $440 to your door for 25lb of Goex fff. Prompt shipping. Powder inc is at $460 for same.

I was at a show with the Maine Powder House this weekend. Pauline told me a case of powder ships free east of the Mississippi.

Skychief- I just got into BP shooting and someone recommended Deer Creek Products near Greensburg In. They stock Goex and Swiss and their prices were better than any I found on line. I drove over and picked it up on day off. They also had patches and some number 10 caps I needed. Really small shop in middle of no where but great folks. I think they supply the powder for Friendship.

I looked at Maine Powder House, and they seem to be .44 cents cheaper than Powder Inc, but they have no GOEX 3Fg in stock.

I use Graf and sons, I can get 5lbs goex for 120 and change to my door ups, same lot from powder inc. 145 and change, Grafs I can mix in modern powder also and they have an excellent selection, works for me.

My 'vendor' was at two large shoots in Arkansas every year. But he didn't keep up his Federal paperwork and is out of business. Guess when I need to resupply I'll drive to Powder, Inc.

If you are going to pick up powder directly from Powder Inc., you will want to call before you make the trip to make sure someone is available. I picked some up from them several years ago when we were traveling and it isn't a fancy looking operation, but very friendly and easy to work with.

Looks like powder inc ships free for 25lbs lot, 460$ to your door.

Powder Inc 'favorite' here. Percussion cap price was way high, but powder price (Swiss) was good on last order. Found them very easy to deal with.

I have had nothing but good service and fair pricing from Powder Inc. :idunno:
