I've been suspicious that some of those we think have gone missing might be here under other screen names forced by the new software or by design.

You're right about people changing names after the update. Can easily think of a few.

But CC isn't around anymore and hasn't been for a bit. Which is a shame as he brought value to the group discussions.

Surely that decision is reserved for the person with the old name and new account. If Angie or anyone else made that info public at the request of anyone else, shame on her. Is that one of the new services of the moderators, now?

I don't think anyone has done that,
But they could/can look at the IP-address of old accounts vs new accounts to see if they're the same, then check for fraud.
But that can be beat by any individual simply by using a different device to log in, like a smart phone instead of a home computer.
And all that really isn't worth anyone's time because the fraudulent individual, if persistent, could just do it allover again from the local library's pc and a third or fourth different name

I had sent him a PM and never got an answer, Hope I get to recognize a new name, he was one of my favorite posters.

For changing your display name? Wow, I had a close shave during the big upgrade, couldn't get on with my old info, so I was a fraud for 2 days. What would my mother think?

Last I checked, one can't have more than one account on this site. So if he chose to create an account under a different name when registering again and DID not continue with the old account, it isn't fraud or cowardice. None of us are under any obligation to post under our own name or divulge anything more than our name & email when registering (to the forum administrators), yet user names are permitted. Is this fraud or cowardice? Nope...

Even if he is here posting under another name - so what? We debate & discuss information which should be backed by evidence and the person posting the information is utterly irrelevant. As a matter of fact, the prejudice attached to the user name if often enough for some to ignore them as they say things these others don't want to hear and would intrude upon the fantasy they have created for themselves if actually entertained...

Oh my goodness, you didn't see what he did in the premium sections of the forum.
CC had a dual personality amoungst our members.
He very successfully would create havoc and discord in premium sections as a simple issue of his ability to do so at his pleasure.
He found it a fun thing to do.
Then also post in our standard section following those members he antagonized and play the victim as those premium members would rebut as a matter of offense, as his seemingly benign postings looked.
So yeah, when a guy has pulled that much stuff(?) and allows his old and sullied membership to expire by the wayside,, and create another(?)
Yeah,, it demonstrates a mans character.

You are right, I didn't. I come to sites such as this to get away from the bovine excrement of the daily modern world, to kick back and recharge my batteries. I decided long ago that anyone signing on to the premium member forums to discuss nothing but the bovine excrement of the daily modern world has a very different reason for being here than I, which I cannot, don't really want to understand, so you will never find me there. If this recent example of letting that bovine excrement spill over into the muzzleloading section is a sign of what's to come, you won't find me here, either.

Personal clashes are stupid, childish, asinine and undignified, no matter who is involved. Bovine excrement squared. I don't care who's involved, I don't want to find such bovine excrement when I try to read a thread.

As someone said, it's the muzzleloading, stupid.

We have lost many members that shared and contributed here in a positive manner.
I ask why it's so concerning to you that it has become an issue like this when one is missing,, when as you say the forum is about ML?
2 way street huh? Is that childish? I think so too.
I'm walking away from this one,, because I know CC isn't missing,, he's another name. One that coloradoclyde won't claim.
