Got a horn ready for some map work.
I sent some previous horn designs on previous forum all American horns mega bucks at Bonhams San Francisco auction. I’ll have to dig the catalogs out. Some were like $40k. Some had frontier maps etc very historical No problem just say please

I finished coning my TC/GM barrel, I scrubbed the inside with a bunch of red scotch bright pads then oiled the bore and planned to shoot it to see how the rifle groups but after a long hunting season I am burned out. I ended up running a patch soaked with Rig gun grease down the bore of the gun and put it in my gun safe to shoot at a later date.

Well it’s taking a different course. I’m going with a more decorative motif style rather than the map idea I had. The marbling on the horn is bringing it that way. A first for my Horn decorations.

Fascinating American history , we don’t get this in uk. Engrave whatever makes you happy it’s your horn But some quick photos Enjoy

Attended the woods walk and competition shoot at the southern Vermont primitive biathlon today. Lots of fun, good folks, and well planned out. Other than a broken ramrod, I did ok.

Downloaded some open-source video editing applications and installed them on my Fedora Linux machine. Hopefully, I will be using one of these to edit video clips later on in the year. I've generally been a still photographer since the film era. I would be quite at home with a Nikon FM, a Speed-Graphic or even any of the Minox spy cameras... and I've shot footage with an old Kodak wind-up Regular 8mm. All in all, I would rather be tasked to get Matthew Brady's camera working again. Digital video is a whole new world, so bear with me if I screw it up.

Got a package from Tandy Leather this morning. Plan to rework some of my stuff. Also got one of their "Windsor Belt Bag Kits", which doesn't look much like the photograph. Apparently I have much to learn about leatherworking.

Could always be worse.
