i am new to muzzle loaders what does a 1in66 twist mean and is it good thank you

1 turn in 66 inches is a great rate of rifling twist for use with a patched round ball.

A lead bullet would require a more rapid rate of twist. Good luck making the determination you need based on the type of shooting you intend to do.

RB's are the lightest bullets that can be shot in any given caliber. Generally, about 140% of bore size is the optimal twist rate for RB's. So a 32 cal will have a faster twist rate than a 58. When shooting heavier projectiles, the heavier it is, the faster the twist rate will have to be to stabilize the bullet. Most .22 l.r.'s are made with a 1:16 twist, but if they were RB barrels it would be more like 1:30.
