I have been searching for a cheap place to get tow. So those who use it where do you get it?

Baler twine. Good point...I've done the same with the natural looking twine. Not sure if I'd trust the newer green and reddish orange twines though. It would be my luck they contain something corrosive, etc.

As for tow, I always pick it up at the market fairs. Maybe a bit more expensive, but I like to have an excuse to visit them!

As a side note;
I have used sisal rope and baler twine as a substitute for tow with good results....
Yeah, it works as long as it doesn't have any "flame retardant" added. I actually took some of my old sisal tent guide ropes and strung it along a fence line in the back 40 for a year,, it works real nice.
But it doesn't flash into flame like a nice high grade tow you can get from the likes of Silver Shuttle.

Oh, :redface:
Ya know, I've never used tow or the like for cleaning a gun, always just a patch an jag.
But I guess it does have a proper place for cleaning.

I was talking about wadding and cleaning. I have tried it for firestarting and got it to work, but not with similar results to tow.
