although I haven't decided if I will continue with it or not. Total length would only be about 24 1/2" or so. No reason other than fun.

If you chop the stock and make a holster it would be a single shot wanted dead or alive!!!
 
I did that years ago, used a heavy duty zip tie to hold it down. It was fun for a CO weekends at the range.
 
Gopher it! I attached a stock to a CVA Flintlock Kentucky pistol back in the day. It was a good shooter out to 60 yards.
