It is not an obstruction. If could have been solved in 5 minuets by putting powder in the breech and shooing it out.

Even if there were a small air gap it would not cause any trouble, ....really. We are talking about a 5 grain charge.

After reading through this whole thread, I'm still wondering why the shoot it out method has not been tried?! It does work you know!
If the o.p. is not at the range,,,, shooting it out might not be an option.... this has been mentioned before in other stuck object topics where some people only answer to these issues is shoot it out.

This is where some confusion lies,,,, at least for me. In a later reply that mentions the broken ramrod,,, it looks like the top of the jag shank is sticking out of the muzzle.

If it is actually at the bottom and against the breachface, I'm not sure powder, or grease, can be gotten in there to move it.

Tried yesterday to shoot it out. No dice.
Well shooting it out has been suggested maybe a couple dozen times on this thread, only 23 more attempts or so to go to hope for a different outcome…..

And no point trying the grease gun method, those videos were probably faked…..

I've used the grease gun method many times, very easy if one is smarter than a tube of grease.
