What is the purpose of the hinged access door in this Springfield sideplate?
Probably for the Maynard Tape Primer. Holds a roll of caps on a tape.
its for a maynard tape primer. kind of like the sharps setup. made to pick up a primer off of a roll instead of having to put one on by hand each shot.
