I finished my 54 caliber Woodsrunner this morning. Fancy maple stock with two coats of Aqua Fortis and four coats of Tried & True. The Steel parts are done with Jax Black and the brass was toned down with Jax Brown.

I did pretty minimal carving on the rifle, just a few stock and cheekpiece mouldings. They turned out OK and I figured I’d better quit while I was ahead. Thanks to all who have offered advice and encouragement on the project.

I hope to shoot it tomorrow.
