Flints are a different world. I had caplocks for years before I fired a flintlock. It is like musky fishing and walleye fishing. Both are fishing but not the same.

Have not shot it yet. Cleaned it. Changed out front sight for lower brass one that will get me on target. Changed ramrod for hickory one. It 
sparks good.

Think the brass front sight just adds a finishing touch.

I love mine! Had it more than 20 years. It always goes off. Have fun putting together your possibles bag! You can see from my avatar that I decorated mine with Indian tacks, and made an indentation in the stock for bear grease... (of which I have none). I ground away the low horn on the trigger-guard, as it didn’t fit my hand comfortably.
I have a few lbs of 2fg and picking up 4 lbs of 3fg tomorrow. Sunday I’ll shoot it in the cold and snow by the looks of the forecast.
I'd rather spend a day in the snow with a flintlock than having to work all day.

I like the stock! Wish my Frontier had a stock like that. Post how it shoots. Hopefully it doesn’t shoot as low as the .32 I have did.
It would have shot low with the factory sight. I have the same rifle in the percussion model too. Filed down the sight. I changed out the new flinter to a shorter brass sight last night.

I installed the same sight I’m my .32 and have had to file it down to almost nothing. I eventually went with a taller rear sight.
I’ve had good luck with my percussion Frontier. We’ll see how the flintlock goes.
