Hello,
I had no practice in flint lock rifle when I bought a PEDERSOLI's pennsylvania rifle twenty years ago.
I didn't succeed shooting it well since I hardened his frizzen and bought good flints.
Since the rifle shoots very well ( it can put fire to a bucket of water ) and it is very accurate.
My last shot with this rifle.

Perhaps a frontier rifle from PEDERSOLI with a improved lock such as L&R's RPL-06-F Flint Lock you can buy at TRACK OF THE WOLF would be a good choice.

Congratulations on your purchase. I own both TC and Lyman flintlocks and both are high quality and reliable. I too like the looks of long, full stock rifles, a few of which I own, but it is much more convenient to be able to remove the barrel for routine cleaning and maintenace with a halfstock. Handier in the woods also. The G?R is a great rifle, more authentic in appearance, and if you start to attend any shoots at local muzzleloading clubs, it fits in appearance-wise much better than the TC.
