Remember when, we were Mountainmen
it seems such a short time ago

We were young and strong an could sing a song
we sang LOUD, not soft an low

our eyes were clear when we laid sights on a deer
an he soon would hang from a pole

We Mountainmen,..who'd a thought back then
that we would ever grow old.

We shoot smoothbores now, can't see the rear sights
but that front blade is still pretty clear

We load them smoothbores with a patched round ball
an still manage to kill us some deer.

We still rendezvous an we still count coup
but it ain't like it use to be

Our joints are worn an it's hard to run
when you've got a titanium knee

Can't sleep no more on the cold hard ground
since we got that new plastic hip

use to drink a whole jug around the fire at night
now it's just a few little sips

The day will come, not far down the road
when they'll wanna put us in a home

They'll say we're to old to be out in the cold
to old to hunt on our own

When they come to take me to that old folks home
on some cold dark rainy night

They'll sure be surprised when this old coon says
"THAT'LL BE AFTER THE FIGHT!".....WAGH!

I still respect the older mountainmen, because I still don't know it all!

That took some courage to hang it all out like that! Nicely done! If you haven't seen it yet, check out "The Worlds Fastest Indian". I think you would like it.
P.S. It has nothing to do with Native Americans!
