If he’s looking for an original to study then this project is a good ways off from completion. I’d guess 2 years. You may disagree but we’ve been hearing about the upcoming fowler for a long time. I’m not judging or complaining, just reasoning with the data at hand. Unlike the fowler this will require a new lock. New double set triggers. New breech design. CNC-ing a Hawken tang and standing breech is not falling off a log-easy. The Hawken is a commercial venture quite far from everything Jim has done so remarkably well so far. Just advising to be realistic, maybe it could be out in 2025. I have no inside info, am just reasoning here.

He will have to do what he did with the SMR, reduce weight a lot from originals which often run in the 10-11 pound range. SMR and Hawken originals were usually VERY heavy guns. Of course buyers are fine with that, they don’t want a truly accurate representation as much as they want a handy gun with outstanding lines, fit, finish, and function. I’m sure it will be a dandy.

Regarding the new Fowler, Jim stated in the new video last week that the Fowler kits would be out in 1st quarter 2024.
